It should be avoided, once you have entered the end zone, touch the ball and/or stop it to look for a better finishing option.

  • In this way we will avoid the loss of the spaces that allow the direct finish that we have, and we will not allow on the contrary "to balance defensively".
  • This aspect should not be taken into account if it is a counterattack.

The first touch finisher, although in some case may be "aesthetic", is more effective given the surprise component that it entails for the goalkeeper and the opposing defenses.

  • If the holder can finish, the teammates must occupy the reject spaces described in the graphical description of the game situation.

Considerations

If the finisher is not achieved at the first touch after a wall or a single pass, we will not have to make any more touches or more passes within the end zone, but we will take the ball out of that area to reorient the game.

We will alternate the inputs by the center (finish zone) with the inputs at the ends, thus avoiding the "fixation" in the defensive game of the opposite.

In the case of very "populated" defenses we will alternate the direct finishers from outside the area with the entrances in the end zone. This aspect is important when in our start and progression sub-phases we usually achieve success.

  • We will have to establish and have specialists in this type of auctions and take advantage of the free spaces left by the defenders when leaving the area to avoid these distant shots (remember the variants made in basketball before the launches of "three" to avoid the bushy zonal defense under the hoops).
  • The training of this sub-phase of completion against very populated defenses, we will do this by pre-designing the different options (as if it were a strategy) so that from each of the possible areas in which the ball is located, we have a quick and effective collective solution/reaction.
