In this volume 2.1. "Technical and Tactical" we expose the concepts necessary to develop these two relevant areas of training, so that they are applicable to the different processes that manifest themselves in football, based on 3 main aspects:

  • We look at the areas of Technical Actions and Tactical Situations within the Collective Game, as a "means" to achieve an "end". Technique and tactics, therefore, will help us together with the other areas, to achieve this collective goal. This aspect will be especially important when considering the learning and improvement activities of each of the technical and tactical actions. Therefore, the effectiveness of each technical-tactical action must be valued, not so much in relation to its correct isolated execution (which obviously must be well realized), but in the fact that this action (along with the rest of those carried out in each Competition Unit), have helped the collective final result that has been achieved.
  • Despite this first aspect, we must also take into account that, during the learning process and subsequent application in the different Processes, Stages and Cycles that manifest themselves in the life of the player, the training of these actions must be adapted to the peculiarities presented by these different moments of their evolution, to their characteristics, and to the needs that the game itself proposes at all times. For this reason the tour will be done by applying from "analytical"," global" forms until the end of the activity with "real game" actions.
  • These 2 meanings therefore imply (as in the FUNDAMENTS OF THE COLLECTIVE GAME) that the Technique and Tactics, are presented in such a way that all possible manifestations of their training and execution are contemplated, each of them being exposed in the"15 levels of application", so that subsequently they can be developed both in the process of TRAINING, HIGH PERFORMANCE and in MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE, in a coherent, logical and progressive way.
