The system concept refers to the willingness/location of players in relation to the different demarcations for offensive play, so that 50% of the pitch is effectively and spacious.

The game system used involves different considerations:

  • The existence in a demarcation of one or two players.
  • The existence of a demarcation without any player.
  • The existence of a player linking two lines of play.
  • In this respect we must differentiate when a player occupies this space from its demarcation, or when it "is" their demarcation. In this case the system suffers from a lack of space in relation to the balance between lines, which causes it to be a defensive variant of the basic system.
  • The intention to play with more or less defenses, means or forwards on each line of play.
  • This intention does not always have a direct relationship with the number of players that make up each of the lines, since for example you can enter in the media line a player with clear offensive (or defensive) characteristics, which is what will eventually give a more offensive or defensive orientation to theteam.

The game system must allow you to manifest:

  • Free spaces to take advantage of (playerless demarcations).
  • Numerical superiority in certain demarcations.
  • The play relationship on the line and between the different lines.
  • This relationship implies that the distance between players/lines is maintained between 15 and 20 meters; therefore a basic system will have, as a rule, 3 lines (in addition to the gatekeeper).

This aspect is important considering the offside rule.

The structure that allows more than three lines is therefore considered a variant of a basic system.

The basic game systems in football-7 are:

  • P.2.3.1
  • P.3.2.1
  • P.3.1.2

In any case the system that most balances us and allows a faster and more logical adaptation to Football-11 is P.2.3.1

The basic game systems, currently, in football-11 are:

  • P.4.4.2
  • P.4.3.3
  • P.3.4.3

From these systems you can propose different offensive and defensive variants (as we will see later).

These system variants are changes and/or offsets of specific positions/locations, and may be due to:

  • A change of players in relation to their characteristics (more or less defensive/offensive).
  • A change in the number of players that make up one of the game lines.

We will use one structure or another (game system) in relation to:

  • The characteristics of our players.
  • The characteristics of the opposite.
  • The type of game that manifests yourself in the competition in which we participate.
  • Exceptionally for the needs to be achieved in the competition.
